nClimGrid-Monthly
NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) provides the monthly precipitation and mean-temperature grids. Earthflux selects cells and months, computes PET, reduces inputs to basin means and derives indices. These are modified Earthflux outputs, not original, unaltered NOAA data. Earthflux is not a NOAA product and carries no NOAA endorsement or affiliation.
The NOAA-managed distribution entry makes the data open for use as desired. It requests attribution for unaltered redistribution and prohibits implied NOAA endorsement or presenting modified data as unaltered NOAA data. Preserve the source citation and identify the subset and modifications when sharing Earthflux outputs.

With this citation, state the ACF subset, the revision's month range, the basin reduction and your input access date. The dataset metadata supplies the citation and use constraints. NOAA and NCEI give no warranty of accuracy, reliability or completeness. Users must determine whether the data suit their application.
gridMET
John Abatzoglou and the University of Idaho Climatology Lab provide gridMET. The provider's copyright statement dedicates gridMET under CC0 1.0. To the extent permitted by law, the author waives copyright and related rights. CC0 permits copying, modification and redistribution without a copyright permission requirement, and provides no warranty.

Earthflux uses daily maximum and minimum temperature, wind speed, minimum and maximum relative humidity, solar radiation and static elevation. gridMET also supplies the reference ET used for the PET wiring check. These inputs support per-cell PET and basin reduction; Earthflux does not redistribute them as an unchanged gridMET product. Keep the provider credit, variable names, units, date range and input digests with a shared result.
Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD)
Credit: U.S. Geological Survey, Department of the Interior. The Watershed Boundary Dataset supplies the twelve HUC8 units 03130001 to 03130012. Earthflux dissolves those units into the ACF Place Boundary and calculates the shared footprint. Cite WBD with the snapshot version, digest, units and your input access date.
USGS-authored data are in the U.S. public domain. USGS requests proper credit. Public-domain status permits reuse without copyright permission. Check the snapshot's metadata for any separately credited third-party material before redistributing it. USGS logos and identifiers have separate restrictions; this data credit grants no right to use them or imply endorsement.
Software and derived outputs
Earthflux application software uses AGPL-3.0-only, and the separate climate_indices library uses BSD-3-Clause.
Earthflux applies CC BY 4.0 to its own dataset and report material after the maintainer records licensing authority for the class and the artifact carries a licence notice. The maintainer recorded that authority for the stored ACF Place Series on 2026-11-03, and its artifact notice carries the licence, the attribution and the input terms. The review stays pending for the other dataset and report classes. This page does not grant a blanket licence to existing downloads. Input Sources and third-party material retain their applicable terms. Preserve these source credits and the revision's generated provenance when sharing derived results.
